Can you make 6am the best hour of your day?
Inspired by several conversations I have had during the past few weeks, here are some ideas to start transforming your daily habits:
If you feel like the pace of the everyday life is going faster than what you can manage
If you feel that your stress levels have reached a peak and you don't have time for the things that bring you joy
If you are in a life transition or experiencing life challenges that make you feel that you wish that something was different
This is a good time to act before your body starts complaining or before you adopt unwanted habits to compensate for not feeling at your best.
We cannot control the external circumstances of what happens to us in the everyday life. We cannot control other's decisions. HOWEVER, we can get better at how we respond to these circumstances by changing how we think about them and how we manage our stress response during intensity.
If there is someone who knows about the negative effects of constant stress, it is me. I have been there, more than once. Therefore, I know that there is a better way.
I know how crucial it is to listen to your body and pay attention to the way you think and react to intensity.
For over 20 years I have been exploring, learning, and experimenting with all sorts of different ways to take better care of my body and my mind. I firmly believe that for many of us, there is a hidden untapped moment of the day when we can set the stage for the day ahead.
Yes, the morning!
I have been testing different morning routines during these past 10 years. My most recent experiment was over 50 days ago when I felt my morning routine was due for an upgrade.
In a moment of fierce determination and inspiration, I decided to make some changes in my morning. I changed my meditation practice, added writing one page in a journal and started listening to inspiring music while preparing lunch box and breakfast for my family. (Side effects: I have found myself dancing in the kitchen while cooking!)
All this happens before 7 am!
By 7 am any negative thoughts have been processed, my mind is calm, and my body feels ready for the day. I start my workday already feeling a sense of accomplishment. I know that the day will throw some unpredicted challenges, that not everything will go as planned or that I will have some "bedtime" battles, but I feel I can handle it better.
If you are ready to protect, cherish and create a new morning routine that adapts to your lifestyle and current life circumstances, let's talk! I'm inspired to share these ideas with you.
