A Paris rainbow moment
I hope this message finds you well and finding moments of ease during this challenging time for the world.
You can't change what happens outside, but you can continue to work on what is within your control: how you take care of your body and how you manage your energy, your time, and your mind each day.
This is a gentle reminder to allow yourself to be inspired by those around you or to inspire others with practices that you are finding helpful.
Yesterday, a friend mentioned how much her, and her family are enjoying their balcony. It has become the space where they can sit for a few moments and take in the fresh air and enjoy the spring weather.
Many people in Paris have found a new meaning for their windows or balconies, big or small; it is now our link to the world outside.
After speaking with my friend yesterday, I looked up and I found a rainbow in the sky. Rainbows represent an excellent opportunity to shift out attention to the present moment, to observe the colors and light, to be fully aware of what we are experiencing at exactly that time, to pay attention and catch these moments.
This rainbow was special, at some point there was a double rainbow; the light continued to change; the colors became more intense before they disappeared. I was fully present. It felt good.
So even during confinement, we can continue to be amazed by nature.
We can continue to listen the birds chirping loudly in the evening.
We can continue to be inspired by the uplifting conversation that invites ease inside.
We can continue to search for that moment when we realize that all we need is to take a brief pause, close our eyes, take a deep breath, and keep going, one day at a time, one breath at a time.
