Do you have time today?

Paris, January 20, 2022

This morning I had an early zoom meeting from 8 to 9am. As soon as it finished, I looked outside the window. The light reflected on the buildings looked interesting. There were patches of blue sky. I knew I couldn’t miss that opportunity to go outside briefly before continuing my workday.

My everyday life has changed in more ways that I can describe by going outside on most days, even if it is just for a couple of minutes.

I read another article today that speaks about the positive effects of nature on our well-being, which reinforces why my practice has been so helpful to decrease stress, clear my mind and feel more connected to nature than I ever did before.

As usual, after my 12-minute mindful movement practice, I stood still observing the space around me. I searched for color. I found it.

In that moment, there is no space in my mind to think about the news, the pandemic, the to do list, the worries.

There is only time to be reminded that are all doing the best we can with the tools we have.

There is only time to observe the world that surrounds us with curiosity and kindness.

There is only time to bring back to mind that we are not alone.

There is only time to create more space inside to cope with the challenges ahead.

There is only time to re-charge our “batteries” so that we can show up to do our work from that place.

There is only time to be reminded that being in green spaces, can be a powerful stress management strategy.

There is only time to take good care of our own mental and physical well-being, so that we can support others in our circle with more presence.

Is there a plant near you right now? Can you place your timer for 60-seconds and observe it carefully?
